Hooray, it’s time to reveal our Table Scraps creations. I think it was fabulous that the RSC color for September was orange. Lots of possibilities. Below is one of my favorite FALL decorations.
This encouraged me to think of a different table topper. I’ve had this pattern in my Tablerunners notebook for a long time. I thought it would be fun to use some Halloween fabrics! It's a pattern by Beth Shibley. I found it on ETSY!
I pulled some fabrics. The pumpkins are a favorite.
Needed a fourth, lighter! The kitties and pumpkins will work!
The directions used the 60 degree line on a ruler, marked with painters tape. Then I remembered I had a specialty ruler bought for a Triangle Frenzy class. It worked perfectly.
Six triangles , three with the orange spiders at the bottom, three with the black with white polka dots at the bottom.
I got it this far at our sew day on September 9th. It’s a economy binding. A single strip , cut 1 3/4" wide. I followed the pattern directions but this isn’t how I usually end binding. Luckily I left a longer tail and was able to unpick a few beginning stitches and do my regular technique. Then I decided to stitch it down by machine. Not my usual technique either. But these challenges have been great for trying new patterns, new ways of doing things.
Cut the strip set! Turn the ruler, cut again!
It’s not perfect, but I’m satisfied!

That is cute as can be, Judy! I've never made a tabletopper (or anything!) in that shape either. I may have to try it because I do have a 60 degree triangle ruler!
