Slow Sunday Stitching 10-25-26

Hoping to put some slow stitches into a couple of WIPs today.

There is Jack’s House. The fancy border, 3 bats, a clump of leaves that I missed, and the RIP and lines on the two tombstones. Nearly? Done!

Winter Stitch . More words, more embellishing of the words as I go and then a finish.

And of course some initial pincushions. This one is an M and it’s ready to be stuffed and delivered next Thursday.

The next ones are L, b, W. Wonder what colors I’ll use on these next 3. I usually pick fabric first, that reminds me of this person and then choose the matching and coordinating floss.

I’ve not done a W, this one is for Wanda.

Hope to finish these and deliver before the end of the year.

I’m linking up with Kathy for Slow Sunday Stitching.

Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2026

RSC 2026 IS COMING TO AN END! September 30th, Angela published a post stating that October would be catch up month or Neutrals either light or dark. I gathered all my 16-patch stars and laid them out. I didn’t make any  light neutral blocks in July, because of the contrast with the white stars. I wonder if I need darks?

Just arranged Rainbow fashion. P-ROY G B I V

I’m going to really have to try to get a quilt made with these blocks. I have too many UFOs as it is.

Something else will have to happen next year. I think I am going organize 10 UFOs. Put them in a tote or project box and put a colored label on each one. When Angela announces a color, the project with the corresponding color will be the one I work on. Maybe, just maybe I can be successful at this.

Linking up with Rainbow Scrap Challenge and ScrapHappy Saturday. Thank you Angela for keeping me motivated.

ps: as I was typing my closing, my predictive text suggested “Stay Hydrated”, it’s an often used reminder in our family! May I should add it!🤣

I LIKE Thursday

Sharing some likes with others at Not Afraid of Color. Thanks LeeAnna for keeping this going.

LeeAnna suggested this conversation starter. What is a food you love to cook or back ad the days get cooler.  My favorite thing for cooler weather is SOUP. I’m sure I’m not alone.  Any kind of soup. Chili, Chicken Tortilla soup, WW Vegetable soup, Ham and Bean, Potato Cheese soup. Any kind. I don’t bake much, but pumpkin anything is a hit with Mr. Busy.

It’s rainy and much cooler this week. Today is my stitchers gathering, and I have a dentist appt.. Last week we had a great abundance of show and tell.

If you want more details on any of these photos, comment and I’ll try to find the answer if I don’t already know.

Edited:  I thought I scheduled this to post. But I am now home after Thursday Stitchers and a teeth cleaning. Not posted, so I’ll share a few pictures of a fall afternoon downtown. Our Main Street, called Gillette Ave. The Downtown Committee does a great job of keeping our town looking festive.

Now I’ll publish!

October is Rushing By…

Another “right on” selection from Nanea at Sweatpants and Coffee

Sharing some likes with others. Thank you LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color for this place to reflect and share.

Last weekend was the N.E.W. QUILT SHOW. it’s a big deal here in Northeastern Wyoming. I took some photos, but not nearly enough. If you are interested in seeing some of the ribbon winners in the various categories, you can check out their Facebook page. NE WYOMING QUILT SHOW. 371 quilts were on display. It’s a People’s Choice voting system, for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. There are sponsors and vendors who sponsor a category and award a ribbon to the quilt that they think fits that category.

A quilt of Cowboy boots, made from just border fabric. The quilter is a young woman who teaches Consumer Sciences ie Home Ec.

The Chairman's Block this year was Flag.  This quilter did a great job with flags as hearts.

This one was made by my friend Connie for her brother-in-law . To commemorate his retirement from law enforcement.

This quilter did won the Chairman’s Block award. Isn’t it fantastic? ⤴️
I really liked this one too.More traditional but stunning.

This is Mary’s Sue Spargo design. She is an amazing stitcher. Did you see the octopus?

Another stitching/quilting friend , Eileen created this gem. It’s colored with crayons, stitched, given a border and quilted beautifully.

The Best in Show quilt. Gorgeous!.

The featured quilter is someone who has supported the quilting community, and has been instrumental in keeping quilting alive, This year the featured quilter was DeeDee Peterson. Some of her quilts were hung around the arena. She had 150 quilts on display.

LeeAnna’s conversation starter for his week. “Do you prefer fun and festive Halloween decorations or truly terrifying decor? ‘

I’m not a horror girl on any level. My decorations include ghosts, pumpkins, maybe a witch’s caldron. Not skeletons and very few spiders or bats.  I need to get mine out. Now that our bathrooms ate nearly done, I can start putting things back in place.
Here’s a peek!

Speaking of bathrooms, our daughter lives in a rented apartment. Sometimes the bathroom can be a pretty scary place. She found a cleaning hack that transformed her toilet bowl. 1:1 white vinegar and blue Dawn. She says it’s “magic”. She also replaced the toilet seat.  All by herself!

Fall is showing up in our neighborhood.

Across the street from our house.

And Christmas is just around the corner. I ordered tissues in my last grocery order.

The way my fall allergies are kicking up they won’t last til Christmas!

I LIKe Thursday #296

I found this on Facebook this week. And today is the 1st of October so I thought it would be fun to share. I’m sharing with LeeAnna and friends at Not Afraid of Color.

LeeAnna suggested this Conversation Starter.

What’s your favorite thing about the shift from summer to fall?

For me that’s easy. Fall is my favorite time of year. The colors gold, red, green, orange are some of my favorites. The air is cooler in the morning, you may need a jacket or sweater, then later in the day you don’t need a cover-up cause it warmed up and the sun shone all afternoon. And then there is this:

Shared bounty from the garden of your BFF!!

Last week at Thursday Stitchers we had marvelous Show & Tell.

Cross-stitch
Crochet
Kinusaiga
Counted cross stitch ⤴️⤵️
In progress Cross stitch

And a 3 yard quilt , binding done! ⤵️

Another PooChon photo. Emmie had a spa day and got a haircut.

And she learned to jump up on the couch.  “Katie, bar the door!”

I’m hoping to have finish photos of our home improvement project soon. We are nearly finished. Then some new towels and some decor.

This month our book club is reading  Theo of Golden. So many varied reviews and comments. Have you read it?

Did you clean your threshold and invite abundance into your home this morning. It’s an intention I’m going to try in the coming months, on the 1st.
