ScrapHappy Saturday. May 2nd but published later!

On May the 4th!

So I’m posting late to Rainbow Scrap Challenge

A new color, ORANGE!  I brought out the orange basket, plus some precut 2 1/2” squares. I didn’t sew with orange, I was finishing up the pink 16 patch stars and crumbs.

But this week I should find some short bursts of time to dig into the orange. The basket isn’t overflowing and held some precut 2 1/2” squares.

There was some other orange that showed up this week. We bought a bag of Cuties. They are really good. Not always the case with oranges purchased here. All that’s left!

And we ordered pizza delivered Saturday night. When I went to the garage fridge for a drink I grabbed this interesting orange can!.  It’s an IPA with tropical fruits and orange from Stone Brewery in California.

Much hoppier than Blue Moon!  LOL

Keep watching for more orange next week.

ScrapHappy Saturday April 25th

Sharing at Angela's Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2026.

I am sad to report absolutely no sewing was done in my studio. Unless you count stitching two pieces of bag mesh together to be woven between the rails of our open stairway.

My machine looks just the same as last week.

The crumb blocks are still in limbo!

So I'll share a meme I found on Facebook.

Yesterday this was what we woke up to. But it the best kind of moisture in my opinion.  Wet frozen snow on the lawns and trees, none on the sidewalks and roads.

Yesterday we got Emmie registered as a patient at a local vet clinic and she got her second rounds of "puppy shots".  She didn't wiggle , didn't wimper.  Her first set of shots was given to her before we adopted her. She now weighs 3.6lbs.  So she is growing and checked out all good.

I did get my biscornu stitched together and stuffed.  I still have to put the buttons through the center  but need a longer needle. I have doll making needles somewhere...then it will be done. Hooray!

This small stitch from Primrose Cottage moved along.

So I'm still here, but not productive.

ScrapHappy Saturday, April 18

Linking up with Angela this beautiful April morning, at ScrapHappy Saturday

Not a lot of sewing happened this week. Here is the reason why!

Emily has joined our family. She is just a baby, 10 weeks old. We are working on potty training mostly.

I did get squares cut and laid on the small design boards for the last two pink 16-patch stars.  And also cut 16 1.5” squares for star points. This week’s block ( on the right) and on the left, next week’s block.

There were some various sized crumb blocks made also.

ScrapHappy Saturday. April 4th

Joining all the scrappy quilters today at Angela’s ScrapHappy Saturday

Angela announced the color for April last week. It is PINK.

So I got the first 16-patch star block done, in Pink.

Also this week I completed the 4th red block for March, got 2 more green blocks cut out and one sewed, for February and 2 blue blocks complete for January .

So my goal is to get 2 more blue blocks, one more green and a 2nd pink one. Then I’ll be caught up.

I’ve also been sewing crumb blocks for each color of the month. Didn’t get to the pink scraps this week, but there are some crumbs in my bags of scraps. So next week you will see more pinky scrappiness.

Off to check out other posts at So Scrappy

ScrapHappy Saturday

I’m linking up with Angela and friends for the 2nd Red Saturday of March and Rainbow Scrap Challenge.. I made 2 16-patch Star blocks. And one is ready to sew.

I’ve done a bit of math and decided I’ll need at least 4 of each color.  I got 2 green ones made for Feb and none for blue January. I guess I have some catching up to do.

Tomorrow is the last for Project Quilting 17. I missed completing 17.5 “ of Another Era” and 17.6 “ My Complements “. I really hope I can complete this last one. Stay tuned.

Also I started the quilting  on Make Do and Mend for 2026 SAHRR. The parade is the 25th, so I need to have it done by then. NO PRESSURE!!  LOL

I have just started reading. So far I like it and it’s RED.

Scrap Happy Saturday.

Linking up with Angela at So Scrappy  Green is February’s selected color. I made a second
16 patch star block. . The one on the left is the second one.

I also sewed crumb blocks. I’m using all my greens in the crumb blocks.

Other sewing this week, was an item for Project Quilting 17. This week’s prompt was Of Another Era. So many possibilities. It didn’t go as planned.  This was a panel from my stash. A front and back of a Smiley pillow. I cut out the circles.. The directions say sew the front to the back and stuff. They are not the same size.

Also a new prompt was announced for SAHRR. This week our round should be 2 Colors.

Still haven’t landed on a plan.Maybe this afternoon. I might tweak the rules a tiny bit. No Quilt Police during SAHRR. This is what it looked like yesterday.

ScrapHappy Saturday

The last Saturday for blue. I did cut a block for The ScrapBusters Challenge to see if I liked it. It’s ok, but I’m not sure!  I’m linking up with Angela for Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

So I continued to make crumb blocks . I think I’ve used up all the Eat My Dust fabrics and the blue with yellow stars, then I find another strip or chunk! So I keep using it up.

My Stay at Home Round Robin project is on round #2.  “Make It a Double” is the prompt. I’ve spent considerable time trying to decide which block to do, then more time drafting it so it will fit. It’s still a work in progress.  Not blues but purples and lavender.

I’ve been seeing the State Birds of Resistance decals on Facebook, and Instagram. This is the one for Wyoming, the Western Meadowlark.

Have you looked up your state?

ScrapHappy Saturday Jan 24

I didn’t sew much blue this week. There was blue in my Project Quilting 17.2. Scads of Plaids.

And I made Blueberry muffins this morning. Does that count?🙂

Looks like my oven has uneven heat. Should’ve turned them.

I have decided not to pursue the Delectable Mountains block. At least until I get my space under control. I’ll continue to make crumb fabric in the color of the month. I reserve the right to change my mind again.

I linking up with Angela and friends for ScrapHappy Saturday. Will be looking for inspiration!

Holy Toledo it’s Saturday and it’s 2026

I should be posting blue blocks. But I’m still working on the last bit of Table Scraps Challenge for December. I have until January 7th to post my entry. There is some blue involved.

If you want to see what other Rainbow Scrapers are doing, click HERE or click the new Button Widget  Angela made,  located at the top of my right hand side bar

I’ve “thought about/decided on/maybe not”some block ideas for 2026. I really need to use up my stash. Really, really, really need to.  I’ll keep you posted.

Right now it’s back to the ironing board and a strip of binding..
