I LIKE Thursday #288

I plucked this from the blog, Wedding Dress Blue . Are you a visitor to her site? I love her use of scraps.
I made a version of her pattern, Growing Up Odd. It’s a favorite.

Not much to talk about this week. Still doing PT on  my left hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, 2x a week. I’m still having some pain, mostly discomfort. Kind of like a nagging headache. Not a migraine!.

Still no sewing done. Though I did do some pressing of some laundered capris. I use my right hand most of the time when ironing.

We are still in Home Improvement  H-E-Double Hockey Sticks.   Sleeping in the guest room is fun. All our personal items have been relocated. Steve couldn’t find his deodorant, I’m not sure where my curling brush is. FUN! FUN!

LeeAnna posed this conversation starter:

a vivid memory of a family vacation you'll always remember... when you were young? or after you grew up, either. What made it stand out and memorable? People, place, activity, etc

The first event that came to mind was a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park. Probably 1958 or so. I remember being old enough to “get the joke” and being mortified. We were traveling with family friends, my Dad was the photographer. He and the other dad thought it was great fun to catch the moms and us adolescents girls coming out of the outhouse. Now remember the time period. My mom and the other mom wore full skirted dresses. We girls wore sleeveless tops and pedal pushers. Thinking back, I don’t know why I was mortified. Just embarrassed about pictures of using the outhouse. 😁

We had lots of fabulous vacations camping and sightseeing in our area. Later Mr Busy and I took marvelous vacations with a motorcycle club, to places all over the US.

I LIKE Thursday #287

I like sunrises and sunsets. Rainbows and storm clouds too!  Joining LeeAnna and friends to share the good things, mostly.

I have a new photo of a middle granddaughter and her kids, my oldest and youngest great grandchild .

But it’s my oldest great grandson’s 16th birthday! They went to Universal Studios.

I was at stitching today, while the plumbers came and refigured the drains in our master bath. Tonight when I got home it looked liked this:   This is where the new shower will be⤵️

This will be where the new toilet area will be. ⤵️

This was the vision of the builder, hope it works out!🤞

I found a new game to play on my iPad. MEOWDOKU. Have you tried it?

A bit of stitching was done on this. You’ve seen this in the past. It’s an Autumn Banner or Bell Pull. It’s beautiful, but the color changes are intense. Those little acorns have 6 different color changes. Sigh!

All for now, I’d better publish this before I get interrupted again.

I LIKE Thursday #286

When I saw this MEME I knew I had to save it. Seems like I am in this constant “but first” cycle. And I’m tired!

I’m not writing a Thursday post til Friday, cause Wednesday I did the laundry I should have done Monday. Then had a doctors appointment, then it was supper, and walk the dog before it rained!!!.

So some things I like.

We had family time last weekend. Did I take any photos?  Nope. It was hot, but we were at a city park, so shade was plentiful.

I went to stitching group yesterday, some of the projects being worked on.

1. Linette started a wool embroidery project last week at the Wyoming State Quilt Guild in Powell, Wyoming. I haven’t attended in the last couple of years, only because it’s hard to pack all the supplies, sleep in a college dorm room at my age. But those who did attend hands good time.

2. Donna is working on a Sue Spargo project.  I caught her with her hands over her stitching, but it is the cutest chicken ever!

Diana has started a new hobby. She’s doing Diamond Dot painting. She finished the Hummingbird above , then started on this piece. A blue dahlia!

Marva finished the binding on a lovely Christmas panel. I think she will donate this.

Emmie got a gift in the mail this week, from our daughter. It’s a puzzle ball attached to a suction cup that is also a tug toy. Her she is sitting attentively watching Mr Busy fill the ball with treats. She actually can sit still! LOL! The ball is a tiny bit big for her mouth, but she works at it. I’ll try to get a photo for next week

So next Monday I start physical therapy on my arm. I’m anxious for improvement so I can get back to needle and thread and some other things.

Now that you are done reading about my week, click on LeeAnna’s blog and see what others are liking this week.

I LIKE Thursday #285

The 4th is behind us. But we can celebrate this birthday all year. We’ve had some political election signs up for a while. But this week they have grown by leaps and bounds. These midterms are serious business here In Wyoming.

Last Wednesday I went back to the orthopedic clinic for a recheck. They did X-rays again. Now they can’t really see any break. I can remove my brace when I’m resting and not too active, next week they will give me a PT referral. I have good movement, but not much strength. PT will help, I hope!.

I was able to hold a hoop and needle & thread for short periods this week. Putting the finishing white stitches in WIP Sweetly Sayin’, was accomplished. It’s done now except for date and signature.

Also some stitches were put into 4th of July. After today,  I’ll put this in rotation, and work on something different. Another neutral string block, maybe, and start gathering  2 1/2” aqua squares.

This really got neglected after my fall. Oh well!

The bathroom(s) remodel is slowly taking shape. The hall bathroom is usable now, with the exception of a mirror and paint and final light fixture. Our daughter is coming to visit and celebrate her granddaughter’s 10th birthday, tomorrow through Monday. So I’ll put my stand mirror in  that bathroom temporarily.

I’m looking forward to her visit and the birthday party that is planned. I hope I remember to take some photos.  I’m not good at that, I get caught up in the party/🎉🥳😄

One last hint to share: Tuesday late afternoon, Mr Busy and I were enjoying some time on the back deck. We went in to fix supper and then were hit with a good old fashioned thunderstorm. All this leads to the fact that my homemade table toppers  were soaked and left there overnight. They looked like this.

I took them to the washer and did a 30 min soar in warm water and a squirt of Dawn platinum. When the cycle was done, they looked like this. I am very pleased. Thanks Marva for the hint!.

Stay Busy and Stay Happy and Healthy and Hopeful!

PS: forgot to publish yesterday! OMGOSH  I’m getting so forgetful!
