Today I hope to make some progress on Jack’s House. I had a problem last week. I was stitching merrily along til I got to this point. 

 

Actually I was nearly to the bottom of the right side of the house. There is a Halloween pumpkin there. As I started to stitch the stem on the pumpkin, I realized I was one row too far to the right with the black border. I counted and pondered. Could I just adjust everything to compensate. Not with this fancy border. The measurements must be perfect. ⤵️

So out came the unpicker  and the seam ripper. UGH1 I hate doing that. The problem occurred when I stitched the moon. I unpicked to here. These two stitches were correct. 😟

I spent most of my stitching time early this week restitching and now this is where I am.  The moon is correctly placed, the green of the lawn has progressed and one pumpkin is complete. 

When this project is Fully Finished , I need to get started on some Christmas stitches. I have a couple I want to do.  

This WIP from 2024! Actually this is a Winter stitch, not really Christmas!

And 

Last year 2025, I won a gift from Texas Quilt Gal during a Christmas in July blog hop.  (Linda, correct me if I’m wrong). Threads (that I have added to, to stitch Peace on Earth)

and fabric.   (Isn’t it gorgeous with the gold sparkle?)

and a project bag.  Which I didn’t photograph! 🙃

So I’m all set for the “stay indoors and stitch” weather that is headed our way!

It’s already 4:30pm on Sunday and not a single stitch laid. We have out of town company. It’s hard to turn your attention to stitching when you have guests. 

I really want to work on Jack’s House. 

I’ve barely begun!

I’ve been reading all the entries at Kathy’s Quilts - Slow Sunday Stitching

Not much slow stitching happening in my neck of the woods, lately.

 I finished two more pin cushions yesterday. The “C” went in the mail yesterday . To CS in California, an early snowbirder this year. Their grandbaby #2 is due soon. They have a park space to stay. So it will be a wonderful happy time for them. 

The ‘d’ goes with me today to Thursday Stitchers. DB’s birthday is next Tuesday.

This week I’ll continue to catch up on February and March birthday’s . I’m caught up on August and no birthdays in September. I’m enjoying this project. 

I’m anxious to start on Primrose Cottage’s current stitch, Jack’s House. ………….

8-23-26.

I stitched the next pincushion. It needs  flowers, or buttons or beads. That’s the fun part! And a backing and stuffing. 

Jacks House: 

It’ll be a dough bowl filler. 

And yesterday, a new stitchery shop from a nearby city, 104 miles away actually, brought charts and fabric to a local quilt shop and taught a beginners cross stitch class.  I had to visit, to chat with Jen the shop owner and Nancy and Amy, and of course to buy!.

3 pieces of fabric, 4 charts and 2 needle minders Now I’m ready!

These will be fun to add for the ‘ber’ months in my dough bowl.

Slow Sunday Stitching

 

I’m still stitching. Just not a lot and not for very long!  Slow and steady is the name of the game. Joining the group at Kathy’s SLOW SUNDAY STITCHING

Some progress was made on this WIP. 

At my stitching group on Thursday, there was some show and tell. A lovely Jenny of Elefantz design stitched by Diana. 

and also this fabulous hexagon flag wall hanging. The Hexies are 1” finished , I think. And the white felt stars are attached with glue. It is just gorgeous and also sewn by Diana .

Slow Sunday Stitching #26.18

 

It’s been a while!  But I’ll be joining up with Kathy and friends to do some slow stitching. 

I did some stitching on this laborious bell pull. It’s going to be beautiful, but I can’t stay focused. 

So I switched it up to try to finish this stitch along from several years ago. Some of you will remember it. 

In the process of finding it I thought I had a turquoise rectangular hoop like this Nurge one. 

Do you think I can find it? Nope! I’ve spent parts of 2 days looking for it. I will use the purple smaller one, but can’t for the life of me figure out where the bigger one might be🤷‍♀️?  Mr. Busy always says, “out of place is lost”!

I will be sitting in the cool today, slow stitching on the winter stitch along from Stitchonomy. I started it Jan 2024. Maybe I can complete it by Dec 2026!

Well, Phooey!

 Sharing this short post at ScrapHappy  Saturday and Slow Sunday Stitching. 

Nothing accomplished by me this week. Except trip to the ER, doctor’s office, PT Dept and the Dermatology Clinic.

Monday I fell, walking outdoors. Fullout face plant!

Bruises, and a small fracture to my left elbow.

By Tuesday morning I looked pretty sad!

. After a visit to the orthopedic clinic and their PT department, I looked, not better, but different. 

Thursday, Mr. Busy dropped me off at Stitching, to lift my spirits. I visited and felt better. then we went to the Dermatologist.  He took a growth off my right upper arm. 

Waiting for pathology report! Fingers crossed.!.

No sewing for me this week, will see how next week goes! I’ll let you know!

Slow Sunday Stitching

 

I’m joining Kathy and other slow stitching aficionados to celebrate the act of Stitching slowly with intention. 

 I’m on the road to finishing the Free Stitch from Primrose Cottage. I’m way behind! But I’m looking forward to stitching this one. If you sign up for her newsletter, you can download the chart for free. 

But I would like to finish this one first. 

I’m also stitching small initials for pincushion gifts. This will be a yearlong project.  I finished this “G” pincushion on Wednesday

Slow Sunday Stitching ~ Happy Mother’s Day in the US

 Fingers crossed for a quiet restful day. My sister used to host a Mother’s Day Brunch when our mother was still with us. We are all scattered and some of us are gone. So it’s not the same. Mr Busy and I talked about going out for breakfast today. But we don’t have many sit down breakfast places, and they will be busy. So he fixed eggs and pancakes at home. And we talked to both offspring!

I’m stitching on another Initial Pinnie, this one is an M, next is a G, another C.   I choose patchwork colors first, to reflect the recipient, then floss to match the fabrics. Ms.MJM loves yellow!

And I am continuing on the Sweetly Sayin’ cross stitch from Primrose Cottage.  I’m really enjoying this one.

And I downloaded the new one for May. If you sign up for the newsletter, you can download a free chart every first Thursday.  They also have some great patriotic charts, great to celebrate our 250th birthday!

Slow Sunday Stitching May 3rd

 

The only stitching that was accomplished this week was slow stitching. Lots of stitches put down on this one. 

As long as things are taking me, I may have to skip straight to 4th of July Stitching!  I really like the July Quaker at Primrose Cottage and their flag chart with the 250 stars. Could I do both? Maybe!

This evening I’ll stitch on this Sweetly Sayin’ Stitch. On the way toward done!
