I’m linking up with Slow Sunday Stitching a bit late today. I slept in this morning. Blame the black-out curtains on our bedroom window. We live next door to a former church building turned events center. Some Saturday nights there is a party going on! Complete with band and lots of people. We can hear the music and hear everyone leaving sometime between midnight and 2 am. Hence the black out curtains and finally getting to sleep! 😴
Today I’ll work on adding in a few stitches to March on my Temperature Cross Stitch. This pattern was downloaded from Fat Quarter Shop in 2023, in August! I intended to use it in 2024. I didn’t even remember that 2024 is a leap year. I had to add a cross motif for the 29th. I don’t think it’s noticeable.
January and February- every cross motif is a different day. The yellow stitches represent 55-60 degrees. Very unusual for our area in January and February!
Also I will do some more stitches on March’s Queen Bee on the Woven Wreaths SAL from Kathy Schmitz. I watched her stitch along video on the 1st and got a good start. I don’t usually like the stem stitch but following Kathy’s directions it went well in this design.
Enjoy your time today with needle and thread. As I stitch, I’ll be contemplating a project for this week’s challenge for Project Quilting 15.5. WEARABLES! Hmmmmm!
I was thinking it looked like you've had a few more warmer days than is typical for Jan and Feb - so have we! I bet no one will ever notice that there's an extra stitch for Leap Day 2024. I think I'm getting better at the stem stitch, too, since doing more of it in my Woven Wreaths!
ReplyDeleteI've always found stem stitch a bit tricky. I suppose one day I'll get the hang of it. That little bee is as cute as can be. Enjoy your stitching today. I wonder what you'll imagine for your "wearables" project??
