TO-DO Tuesday #136

I think I’m linking with Carol at Quilt Schmilt for To-Do Tuesday. My iPad and I are having a problem getting along.  I may have to go to my laptop!  The linky party  is live.



1. Host another family gathering! ✅

          I didn’t take any photos! Last Friday, out daughter drove up from Colorado to get more stuff and her cat!  Her daughter and grandchildren were here after school on Friday til supper time. And back again for most of Saturday. We drew on paper, Miss B has been having nightmares, so we  wrote a story about that and illustrated it. 

I punched holes and she picked a ribbon from stash. 

We played Sorry and Guess Who and Happy Little Dinosaurs. 

Which is way more complicated than it looks!

We walked Tinkerbell (a rescue dog that joined their household) And ate ,of course! 

2. Finish house #2 for Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL. ✅

3. Finish NOVEMBER stitchery.❌. But it’s close and I will get it done this week!,
4. SPRING SEW projects. ✅ 

I sewed batting scraps together to make usable sizes!

I got all the rows sewed together for Long May She Wave. 

I worked on the Blue House ( see above)

ScrapHappy Saturday ~ Purple

I sewed, and sewed and sewed last week! But only this purple happened! ⤵️

And I learned when you use a AccuQuilt cutter, weird scraps happen! ⤴️

Hopefully next weekend will be more purpley!

Got to this point at the Sew-in this week at the library. 

I forgot to bring a regular ironing board, so will give it a good press before measuring for the final blue borders. They are all stitched together and ready to measure and cut. Then I’ll have to find a backing so Aggie can quilt it! Finally!

I LIKE Thursday

Prompt for Thursday April 13 

“are you a morning person or a night owl? what do you like about being 
this way? Would you prefer being different?”

I’m a morning person! Which means I don’t stay up late. Mr Busy says I turn into a pumpkin at 10:00 PM. I prefer to get up to see the sunrise. It’s my “ME” time. I make a coffee and then quietly creep downstairs to spend time with my iPad and my journal. Mr Busy is still asleep, he’s a night person. 

Spring Sew Fun!

Some photos of the projects that friends are working on. 

I started out by sewing batting together. I knew the first day would be filled with hugs, and lots of visiting and sharing. So I wanted a project that was sort of mindless.

Sherry had a small quilt finish ⤴️  and a beautiful table runner.⤵️

Diana makes itty bitty hexies to make a fantastic table topper!⤵️

I wish I could remember the name of this pattern that Darlene was working on!

It’s kinda of a Maze!

And Mitzi had 5 finished table runners that she brought to bind! 

I didn’t renew the paper copy of Watership Down. 

But I did download it fron my library through Libby. It’s actually an interesting listen, with the accent of the narrator and to hear his pronunciation of the “rabbit “ words. “Elahrairah” is a folk lore trickster, “silflay”-feeding time, “flayrah”-special delicious foods, or “elil”-evil, dangerous ones. 

I’m off to the last day of Spring Sew then home to make a grocery order and make Granddaughter #1’s favorite brownies.

TO-DO Tuesday #135

Good Morning fellow list-makers! I’m linking up today, with our hostess  Carol at Quilt Schmilt for To-Do Tuesday!

April 4th -April 10th.



1. Cut and sew some horizontal white sashing for the QOV.✅

Oh no! There are no photos on my camera roll, and the rows are all packed away in a project box to take to Spring Sew! I’ll take pictures there and add them here Tuesday afternoon.

 
2. Practice with the AccuQuilt.✅ The Flying Geese die came with my cutter. So I made 10 purple and floral flying geese!

3. Get taxes done.✅ 

4. Plan a project for next week's 3-day Spring Sew.✅ see number one above plus I’m taking my batting pieces to make Frankenbatting!
5. Finish Miss Flopsy before Easter!✅.

The back. I sewed all four sides then slit the backing so I could stuff with fiberfill. I whip stitched the opening closed, then glued two rectangular pieces of wool over the opening. Easy peasy. I followed Lori Holt’s YouTube tutorial.

Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL

I’m linking quickly this Monday morning with Sandra at mmmquilts. Below is my first house for the Rainbow Neighborhood QAL.  I didn’t really mean to copy Diann at Little Penguin Quilts, but the monthly color is purple and yellow goes well! Just ask that pansy print in the middle of the Ohio Star! 

My skies will vary and so will the grass and the houses! I’m using up scraps and stash! I posted this photo on Instagram but couldn’t figure out how to link an IG post! I’ll research more. It also posted on Facebook! That surprised me and sorta ticked me off! I don’t necessarily want everything I post on Instagram to also post on Facebook! Grr!

Slow Sunday Stitching ~ Happy Easter!🐣

Some quiet Sunday Stitching on this Easter Sunday! Joining Kathy at Slow Sunday Stitching ! 

I’m nearly finished with the November stitch. Just a bumblebee and a ladybug. Then, I’ll be ready to start December. 

Of course I had to start another counted cross stitch, because it’s the Spring Stamp SAL from Pinker n Punkin. I loved  doing the Autumn stamp , so I had to do Spring! Thanks Melisa!

The fabric is what was left when I tea and coffee stained a piece of 14 ct Aida for the Autumn Stamp. As you can see there was barely enough. I added strips of fabric to each side so I could use a small hoop. It is very stiff. You can see the hoop marks, but I’m not a very good in-hand stitcher. My left hand tends to cramp up.  I think this will work. I’ve used this technique in the past. Hope to get some stitches in this one, Melisa will have a chart out for the 3rd square soon. On the 10th , her schedule says!  I’m trying to catch up, but will not put more stress in my life. What will be will be!
