The last day of September has always been special to me. It’s our son’s birthday. Today he is 55 years old. You can probably do the math and figure out how old that makes me! 😆
I did get some sewing of Aqua/Teal/Turquoise/Ocean. Mostly Teal with light beige with a touch of aqua and cranberry! These were in a scrap tote from 2014. That’s when I made Americana Modern. You can see the bits and pieces progress in this Post.
The chest belonged to my paternal grandparents. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
The oak make-up mirror was made by my late BIL. The framed crossed stitch is I Corinthians 13. One of the Bible verses from our wedding, 59 years ago. I stitched it in 1983.

Happy birthday to your son, Judy! It was my birthday yesterday, the 29th - so I like the end of September, too. Love seeing your dresser scarf in use - it's really perfect for that dresser!
ReplyDeleteWow, so many wonderful keepsakes, etc. in this post, Judy. I would be very sentimental about all these things. Pretty quilting and stitching so special. And they really don't make it like they used to.

ReplyDeleteWow, Judy that makeup mirror is beautiful. I can imagine the sound and feel when you open one of those dresser drawers; reminds me of my grandmother's sideboard, though hers was a dark stain. And didn't you have your son when you were like oh 10 or 12?! Wink!
ReplyDeleteMy son turned 53 in May. You and I married when we were 10, right? ;) Your vintage dresser and that pretty scarf are beautiful! How I wish I still had my old dresser from childhood. Corinthians 13 was what we had read at our wedding too! What a great idea to do a cross stitch. Yours is so lovely!
