LeeAnna’s prompt for this week:
do you like to sing for yourself?
I used to, but not any more. Even I don’t like my voice now!
For others? Oh heck no! See above!
or has anyone said you're not a singer? do you sing to babies?
This makes me think of a favorite story. When our first grandchild was a baby, she and her mom lived with us for awhile. Sometimes when her mama was working, I got to put her to bed. She was maybe 7-8 months old. ( ps, she’ll celebrate her 38th birthday, the 21st of this month) I was rocking her and singing a lullaby. She reached up her hand, patted my check and said, “no,no, no!”. I think she just didn’t want to go to sleep, but Grandpa says, to this day, that she didn’t want me to sing! 😄😳🎵🎶
other suggestions: do you make up songs during the day? Are you more comfortable singing high or low…… if I sing at all, I sing low! As my dad used to say, “ Sing low, so low no one will hear you!” 😳
Entertainment:
The Diplomat with Keri Russell. It’s on Netflix and know that there is another drama with the same name, a British political series, airing on Alibi.
We watched the second episode of Rabbit Hole on Monday night! We again came away at the end saying, “What??” It’s a thriller alright.
Spring has finally, just maybe, sprung in Wyoming. Not all parts though…this video from the Montana Highway Department
The Beartooth Highway is actually US Hwy 212, that runs from Red Lodge MT, to the northeastern entrance to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. It’s a fabulous drive in the summer!
Other miscellany
I received some Happy Mail on Monday. For signing up for Hands 2Help at Confessions of a Fabric Addict. It’s called the Nest! I am excited to use it and it’s PURPLE!
Not much else going on here this week, except an in home visit by, not one but two, health insurance agents. They saved us $$ though, so we are happy!

We started watching The Diplomat last week and are really enjoying it. The nest looks like a great organizer.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your wins! I've seen that Nest on IG and thought it looked neat. Let us know how you like it.
ReplyDeleteI love mountains, but I get nervous driving in them. I would not do well in the snow - that guy is courageous and very expert at what he does. I would rather just get out and walk. I literally pulled away from the screen when he turned around!
Wonderful post, Judy. Your story about the little one shushing you reminded me of a story my friend told me recently, she was hugging her 2 year old granddaughter and telling her a story when she reached up, put her fingers on her grandmother's mouth and said " no more sardines for you Grandma". LOL I need a phone parker too; always looking for mine. Great win. We watched The Diplomat and enjoyed it...can't say we understood everything they were talking about, but it was good anyway. Love the way Kerri is going more natural instead of all done up like a model. We still have to check out Rabbit Hole.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the win. Looks useful! Goodness, look at all that snow. I'm hoping we've seen the last of that this year.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun story about your granddaughter! The Diplomat sounds like an interesting show. We don't have Netflix right now, but one of these days I'm going to sign up for it again, and that one will be on my list! Congratulations on your wins, too! The Nest looks like a handy tool!
ReplyDeleteWe've driven the Beartooth Highway in the summer, and it is a beautiful drive! I'm sure your singing isn't as bad as you claim, but I had to chuckle about the story of singing to your granddaughter. Congrats on the two wins - you'll love that purple holder, and Preeti's patterns are so fun to make!
ReplyDeleteahhh loved this and the story reminds me of my Canadian boyfriend. Once I said, "oh no, please stop singing!" He grinned and said, "thanks! Glad you recognized it as singing!"
ReplyDeleteoh, and that was me, LeeAnna not anon.
