It’s time to get grateful! I’m falling done on the job of remembering to look at the bright side. Very few photos this week. I’m creating a Table Scraps Challenge and have changed my mind so many times. Guess that’s something to be thankful for! I still can change my mind!

We finished another puzzle! I use the word “we” loosely! It was mostly Mr. Busy!
This one was fun! Lots to look at! Lots of colors and the pieces were easy to handle!
I finished reading Lilac Girls and went to my bookcase to start a Jennifer Chiaverini title that a friend gave me. The Lost Quilter.
I started reading and felt like I had missed something. So I googled the order of her Elm Creek Quilts series and sure enough! Thank goodness Goodreads keeps track of the books I read. I read 1-10 several years ago. So I needed to read #11 The New Year’s Quilt, #12 The Winding Ways Quilt, and #13 The Quilter’s Kitchen before I go on to The Lost Quilter! Phew!
Luckily our library had a copy of The New Year’s Quilt. I’m enjoying it.

I made this recipe from a search online. It wasn’t wonderful!
It’s so pretty here. I didn’t bake it in a springform pan and I didn’t have coarse finishing sugar but that w as the only difference. The altitude here sometimes requires longer baking, but it was just a bit blah! I won’t make it again. When I put the recipe in my WW (formerly Weight Watchers) app, I discovered 1 serving was 14 points. I’m only supposed to eat 18 pts per day! YIKES!
Back to salads and protein and veggies! 😀
We are walking a bit more frequently! The aspen trees at the apartment complex down the street are "flowering"
And then yesterday we had high wind warnings and as I was working on this post......
snow flurries. Thankfully they did not amount to anything and 20 minutes later the sun was shining! Now we have yard cleanup to do. The wind deposited lots of tree branches and trash!

I find it interesting that a lot of the recipes I find on the internet are not very tasty, and kind of blah. That is when you figure out how to change it up. I love flavor! Especially if I am using big calories. Yeah we had a couple of days of high winds, then rains, and snow. Goodreads is excellent for keeping track of books, especially series. I had one of those weeks, not a lot to share. OK -0- to share. :D
ReplyDeleteI love Jennifer Chiaverini's books about the quilting friends, and haven't read one in awhile. I wonder if there are any new ones out. That's too bad about the cake because it sure does look good. Windy here, too - I'm ready to be done with that! Have fun changing your mind about TSC project!
ReplyDeleteLove your Header photo. Seems like Mr. Busy and I have something in common with the jigsawing. Has he checked out thrift stores for new ones. I have found so many there that have not even been opened. The idea of Breakfast cake sounds so delicious but you never know with online recipes. Windy here too and raining today after one gorgeous warm day. But spring is afoot!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! I haven't read Jennifer Chiaverini books in quite a while. Thanks for reminding me about her series! I think that's #14 and I probably stopped around #6. I think it's time to start over. I love how Goodreads keeps track of what I've read and offers new suggestions based on what I've read! We've been having typical Spring weather here, too. One minute it's pouring while the sun is shining, and then it's snowing so hard you can't see the end of your car. Egad. Happy Thursday to you. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

ReplyDeleteI did not realize you are so close to me! That's why we have similar weather anomalies. :) A friend gifted me The Aloha Quilt many years ago, and I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Now I find out I have to read 15 others first?!? Well, I guess I won't be reading my book this weekend... ha ha ha!
