Slow Sunday Stitching and maybe Monday too!
It’s already 4:30pm on Sunday and not a single stitch laid. We have out of town company. It’s hard to turn your attention to stitching when you have guests.
I really want to work on Jack’s House.
I’ve barely begun!
I hope to get the house done before the end of the week. I’m linking up at Slow Sunday Stitching

ScrapHappy Saturday 8-29-26 and 9-5-26
My intention was to get the last yellow and aqua (from July) 16-patch starts done and on the design board. It did not happen.
Edited Now it’s 9-5-26:
All done now! 4 from July, and 4 for August.!
I am looking forward to PURPLE..
I dug out my purple scrap bucket.
Made some choices:
I’ve been listening to the audio version of The Music of Bees by Eileen Garvin. It is so good.
I’m also reading the print book Circle of Days by Ken Follett.
Our life is busy. Next Saturday (actually today) is a birthday party for the younger great grandson, who’s “finally taller than Grandma”. He’s 13!
Our bathroom renovation is progressing, but slowly. I’m so ready for the disruption to be over, and to be settled back in our bedroom. The glass for the shower won’t be ready for 2-3 weeks! Good grief!

I LIKE Thursday #293
Sharing with others at Not Afraid of Color. Thanks LeeAnna for continuing to offer this space.
I don’t have many photos to share, but maybe there will be more next Thursday. This weekend my youngest great grandson is having his 13th birthday party. His grandma, our daughter, is coming from Loveland to help celebrate.
Last week at our Thursday Stitchers gathering, a newbie stitcher, showed her Chicken Quilt She bought this as a panel and used it to learn to do basic stem stitch, back stitch, satin stitch and some french knots. She is finally finishing it. It was a labor of love. The striped binding is a perfect choice.
I ‘m diving into my purple scrap bucket, to get started on September RSC color.
I’m still reading
And listening to The Music of Bees on my way to and from my arm therapy. Today is last day of that , so I’ll have to find another time to listen. I’m in the market for new earbuds. Any suggestions?

I LIKE Thursday #292
I am so saddened by Dolly’s death.
LeeAnna wants to know: did you like school? YES, I did. Elementary School especially. I had favorite teachers. I liked Jr High and High School too. I didn’t go to college, but I would have liked that too, I’m sure. I wasn’t great at P.E. in Jr. High and High School, and didn’t care for Speech which was part of my Advanced Placement English Class. But mostly I looked forward to going to school.
Go to Not Afraid of Color, check out LeeAnna’s post, then read the blogs of others listed at the end of her post.
Another pincushion will go with me today to my stitching group.
This week we had spaghetti squash for dinner one night. It was given to us by a friend. It was really good and we enjoyed leftovers too!
The evenings have been so nice lately. We had a fire table one night.
Some stores and businesses have flowers at their entrances. This one was in front of the parking place when I pulled up to PT last Thursday.
I had the opportunity to do some cross-stitch shopping on Saturday. My “Haul” as the Floss Tubers say!
Guess I’ll have lots to do when the snow starts to fly!

Slow Sunday Stitching
This is a post I wrote last Sunday. But alas, someone?, interrupted me to go for a walk and then I didn’t get back to my blog.
8-16-26
I’ve been reading all the entries at Kathy’s Quilts - Slow Sunday Stitching
Not much slow stitching happening in my neck of the woods, lately.
I finished two more pin cushions yesterday. The “C” went in the mail yesterday . To CS in California, an early snowbirder this year. Their grandbaby #2 is due soon. They have a park space to stay. So it will be a wonderful happy time for them.
The ‘d’ goes with me today to Thursday Stitchers. DB’s birthday is next Tuesday.

Scrap Happy Saturday 8-22-26
Just about caught up. Because there are 5 Saturdays in August, this is technically the 4th Saturday. But my RSC for 2026 was to make 4 16-patch stars in each of the month’s colors. I have completed 3 yellow 16-patch star blocks and an equal number of aqua blocks.
The squares are all cut and arranged for the 4th blocks. So they should go together pretty quickly.
I’m also doing some crumb block construction with no special project in mind. Just using them as Leaders and Enders as I sew the star blocks. I’m not fond of multi colored crumb blocks , so I tend to stick to colorways. These are mostly brown fabrics.
