Technically not true! I thought I would cut some HST on Sunday. Last week I ordered an AccuQuilt cutter, the electric Go Big! Expensive! It arrived Thursday and I didn’t get a chance to open it til Saturday. Then I read all the accompanying paperwork! On Sunday, I plugged it in, reread the start steps and hit the green button. Noise, but no cutting! Made three more tries! Still no cutting! I have submitted a support ticket and chatted with the AQ BOT! ! Karen and Jeanna reached out to me about their cutter. They both are happy with theirs. As of 5:00 pm Monday I have received an email from Customer Service. I followed their suggestions and their instructions. I hope to be packing the cutter up and shipping it back to them this week.
3. Happy Blocks ✅ In frustration after what was happening with the accuquilt, I put them on the wall. Rearranged and left them. I didn’t like them! “Sad face”
Then, I pulled out all the definitely girly blocks and make seven more in more gender neutral colors. This is the result, before I started to sew them together. They are now webbed vertically. Tomorrow or soon , I will sew the horizontal rows. Then probably a border. Or not!!

2. Finish the Any Kid top and get the “girl” colors on to the design wall
3. Box up and return my Go Big cutter!
4. Keep working on star sashing for Long May She Wave.
5. Work on Miss Flopsy cross stitch from Melisa at Pinker 'n Punkin Quilting.

Sorry about the frustration but it sounds like you have things going in the right direction now?

ReplyDeleteHi Judy! Oh, nuts!! I wonder why is wasn't working. How frustrating to get your new toy and to have it broken. I have to tell you the second time I used my cutter (not electric), I thought it was broken. I put the die through - no cutting. I tried again - no cutting. I forgot to put the top thingy on. Oops. I even went on FB and asked an AccuQuilt group is they had any ideas. Geez. Not that this is your issue, but thought you might enjoy a giggle on me. I'm so sorry - I hope you get a new one soon! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI was so excited for you when I saw that you had gotten an Accuquilt cutter! But then I read on - and oh no! That is a big, expensive purchase and then for it to not work. I'm sorry that happened, and hope they make it right. Those happy blocks are going to make a happy quilt!

ReplyDeleteJudy I am so sorry to hear about your Accuquilt having issues. I think that was one of the reasons I went with the manual Go cutter. I was afraid of it not working and having to ship back to the USA. In the meantime at least you managed to get another top webbed. It is a happy quilt so well done! ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear the Go Big cutter didn't work. Growl. Hope they are paying the shipping charges back to them! I have the hand cranked Go and love it. Although, I've been trying to finish things so I haven't used it much recently. Must plan a quilt for it soon. I use the Happy Block pattern a lot. It is a fun, easy pattern.
