I LIKE Thursday #56

Good Morning All!  I'm here to share some likes from the last week.
Thanks LeeAnna  at Not Afraid of Color, for giving us this platform to share the good in our lives. To focus on the happy!

I like finding something new on my morning walks.

This scraggly bush has been here a long time. My route usually takes me a different way.

I’ve never noticed the flowers before! I don’t know their name but their orange-y color is nice!

I like that I am finally able to reach my goal of 10,000 steps, I haven’t done this since before 2019! And the added bonus is my weight is down also!

I like calm breeze less mornings so I can have coffee on my front deck.

Looks like maybe I should be making a Table Scraps table mat for this little table!  The sun is really doing a number on the plastic! Yikes!

And I like that I have a community of stitchers and quilters who will give me solutions to this dilemma! I found the perfect piece of soft green checked flannel to go on the back of the nearly vintage cross stitched baby quilt. It had been in the drawer for awhile, so I decided to press it. Smack dab in the middle was a snag or flaw! It even had tape on it, so I’m sure the shop who sold it knew it was there. Now what? I have few ideas what to do…I’ll see what my friends think!

It was the perfect size and the soft baby green was perfect too!

Til I discovered this!

I'm off today to spend some time with friends. Hoping that we will be able to continue to gather. We are having more cases of the virus variant in our community, but so far no closures or masks mandated. I will wear my mask when I am indoors with big groups of people!

Stay Busy and Stay Happy and Healthy!

  1. It's so nice to have morning coffee outside! Glad you had a nice day for that. Oh no on the defect in the middle of your backing fabric, though! Is there enough extra that you could cut a small patch from the outside edge? After quilting, it probably wouldn't be noticeable.

  2. Trumpet Vine, the flowers look like to me. It is a stunning plant I've had no luck growing. Left to go wild, it will climb and flourish.
Flannel nowadays, I rub it a bit and look to see how much lint there is because I bought yardage for a baby quilt years ago that had masses of lint bursting out of it. Not what I want near a baby's face. I think the way some flannels are made, they're more like chenille than woven flannel, like bit of lint blown into an open weave.
I'd applique something over the flaw.

  3. There's something so great about coffee outside in the mornings. I love sitting on my lanai with mine as the sun comes up!

  4. Yay for 10k steps! Weather has been hampering my walking. Trumpet vine - I had no idea that's what it was called. I think I have that growing in my yard. Coffee on the porch looks nice. Bummer about the hole in the middle of that fabric!

  5. Plant is trumpet vine and it tends to take over! I love having my coffee outside too, especially after Scout and I have had our walk! Can't you applique something cute over that hole to patch it? Or put your label there? Let us know what you decide, the fabric is adorable!

  6. I like to put a label on in the place of the flaw. No one will every know! Glad you have your quilting community. Where on Earth would we be without them???

  7. I found an accidental slit in a pieced quilt and thought... fix it. I fused fabric to the back and now I can't find the slit. I LOVE those flowering vines... like bursts of intense color! so pretty Judy
