“since it's so close to V-day let's think about what we like about Valentines day.
do you have a special cake or truffles for instance, or give cards, get cards, get chocolates, give gifts? Even if you don't have a mate you could send flowers to a best friend, or give a sweet heart necklace to your daughter, or call your mom...
It's about love and showing it.
If currently things aren't happy, then do you remember any previous V-day that you liked? Anything you like about celebrating the love.”
My love language is food!
I almost always send “real” cards. Usually give candy, kisses, assortments, favorite bars. ie snickers
Maybe a special meal, sometimes candlelight, cloth napkins the works.
I don’t want roses, they hold bad memories for me. Tulips, daffodils, or daisy’s are better. No candy please, but a special dinner out is ok! My birthday is just 9 days after Valentine’s Day, so a special dinner out is usually a combined celebration.

Saturday our granddaughter and her two littles ( our great grandchildren )came for a visit.
We had pizza and played Yahtzee. Grandpa built a foam board glider, he and Jojo had a pretty nice day for a quick flight or two!
You’ll see Miss B in a pink parka , picking up sticks! ( They are everywhere under the snow. Then she packed snow into a small bucket with my garden trowel (found in the garage). We has a fun day!
Other Entertainment:
We watched the movie Devotion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It airs on Netflix! It stars Jonathan Major as Ensign Jesse Brown and Glen Powell as Lt. Tom Hudner. It is set during the Korean War and is based on a true story.
DD and I are enjoying Shrinking with Jason Segal and Harrison Ford.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mr Busy isn’t a fan, but sits in the room playing on his iPad, while we laugh!
Speaking of Harrison Ford , 1923 is back. We watched together. The 3 of us here in WY and DS in CA. That dynamic will soon change as DD moves to Colorado. Then it will be a three way call, if we can make that happen!
And Mr Busy and I finished up the current season of Yellowstone! I was disappointed in the ending!
Mr Busy finished another puzzle.
Sorry about the glare! But he works on them, in the basement on a table with two magnifying lights and all the overhead lighting on. There is a glare for the camera!
And now is he has cut out a foam board airplane. See video above. It needed some tweaking, so he’s been working on that.
Speaking of keeping guys entertained, have the men in your life watched , “Bad Chad” or “Vice Grip Garage” on YouTube? Those two are keeping Mr. Busy up at night, watching,watching, watching!
I made a Blueberry cobbler last weekend. I didn’t take a photo, it was not pretty. But it tasted good. I used this recipe .

How nice that you had such a good time with your granddaughter and the Littles! That looks like a neat glider. The blueberry cobbler recipe is very similar to my favorite peach cobbler recipe, and it is not pretty either but tastes wonderful - that's all that matters, right? :D
ReplyDeleteA grandpa who builds things is the best! My dad used to do that with our kids. Kevin (younger son) loved his pirate Legos, so Grandpa helped him build a pirate ship - and we still have it. I love that you still send V Day cards! Blueberry Cobbler sounds yummy - I might have to try that recipe!

ReplyDeleteHi Judy, just enjoyed catching up on your posts. Great stuff going on here. Lovely to see the little ones and what great grandparents you two are! Roses aren't for me either, give me a house plant instead or a meal out. So nice to read about your both keeping busy. Tony enjoys Matt's Off Road Recovery on Youtube...retrieving vehicles from unlikely and dangerous spots. Maybe your guy would like that one. I will mention your list to Tony. Beautiful header, btw.
