I’m still liking Bubly lime. It’s not just a summer drink in my book. I add it to cola, tea, even wine. It lightens what I drink in flavor and calories!
Look what came in the mail this week. I like getting Mail!
When The Joyful Quilter participated in the Show Your Stripes both hop, she had a giveaway. She wanted to know what our favorite stripe was in the comments on her post. This is what I said..
Your stripey pincushion is so cute. I like stripes a lot! Red and white, black and white, blue and orange, yellow and green. I can't decide, you pick! "grin"
She emailed me when Mr Random picked my comment and said, I had to decide on the color and did I want a pincushion or a mug rug. So I picked a black and white pincushion! Then she sent this. I love it. The shape isn’t exactly rectangular. I’m sure it has a name, but my geometry fails me. Now it resides in the basket that sits next to my chair in the family room. Thank you Joy!

A friend passed on her copy of Kiss The Girls and Make Them Cry. I’m late coming to the party of reading and enjoying Mary Higgins Clark. But the 2 I have read, I have enjoyed.
Food:
I finally got my act together and made Lemon Luscious.
Two pieces gone. Mr Busy is a huge dessert fan. So this won't last as long as you think. And don't tell, but I made it with low fat milk, sugar free pudding and light Cool Whip and reduced fat cream cheese. You can't tell by the taste and the calorie intake is better for me. Mr Busy doesn't have to worry about his weight....he's one of those who can eat anything or nothing and his weight rarely changes. I think he weighs 10 more pounds today than when I married him 57 years ago and he was 19.
That's about all the LIKES for me this week. Except I'm glad the weather is improving and maybe Spring is really on the way!

That's a fun pincushion and a unique shape! I won one of Joy's black and white creations a few years ago. I've always loved Mary Higgins Clark. She and a younger writer wrote a series together for a few years that I enjoyed, too. It's called the Under Suspicion series. Your Lemon Luscious looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteA great list, Judy. Now where did you get that nail strengthener? I would love to have stronger nails though I do notice since taking collagen, my nails are stronger a little. Cute little gift from Joy! Love Lemon Luscious too. I read all of Mary Higgins Clark when I was younger...have not thought of her for years. Glad you found her!

ReplyDeleteI have thin brittle nails too. I'm currently wearing gloves to wash dishes, and it has helped a bit with my cuticles, but my nails are still splitting. I've tried various nail polishes and a couple of cuticle creams, but I'm putting that one on my shopping list!

can't believe we got so much snow more than north and west of us too...
my nails are brittle and breaking too. I started using mane and tail cream... but I like sally hansen products since I was 19!
Oh the Lemon Luscious looks fabulous. What a neat pinny. My nails are a mess too, but it is because I wash so often at work. Now when I don't work, they grow like crazy.

ReplyDeleteAvon had a cuticle cream in the 1960s that was good to my hands. Alas, they don't sell it anymore. I think massaging the cream into my fingers probably added to the success of the cream.
Hi Judy! Well, how about that. My niece is a Color Street person. Would you please let me know if the nail strengthening cream works for you? I would get some as well! The Bubly commercials are fun with Michael Buble changing the name. Congrats on the happy mail!! Very cool. You're never too late for Mary Higgins Clark! You have oodles of good reads ahead of you. I am a HUGE dessert fan. When I grew up we had meat and potatoes every night and then dessert with loads of frosting. That's what my dad wanted so that's what we had.
