I'm linking up today to again show the donation quilts that I will be sending to Little Lambs of Utah. I have contacted them about the box and I just need to print a label.  I had hoped to have 3 to send, but my long arm quilters are all booked.   So when I get #3 quilted and bound and washed and ready, I'll send it one.  Sometime this summer, I'm sure.

A quick check in with Hands 2 Help!

This one I call, Any Kid. There are both boy themed fabrics and girl themed fabrics together. And there are no pink border fabrics.

And this one is One Lucky Girl! Definitely girl fabrics. Cinderella, a fairy godmother, kitten ballerinas and some pink used in the borders. 

I’m hoping after quilting and a run through the washing machine they will fit the parameters for The Little Lambs. If they are still too big I will send them to Quilty Hugs for Happy Chemo. This is a pattern/ tutorial used by Sylvia at Treadlestitches.
She links to a Tutorial for Happy Blocks. from MaryQuilts.com. They are 40x48 before laundering!

To-Do Tuesday # 85

Good Morning! Today is To-Do Tuesday! Thanks Linda for keeping me motivated and on track!

Let’s see how I did and then check out others at Texas Quilt Gal  






March 29 - April 4

1. Get a start on pink! Happy Blocks and ZigZag blocks! ✅

The HSTs are arranged on my dimly lit hallway “design board”! I keep looking at the balance of color. This may not be the way they stay, but we’ll see!

I don’t have much pink that reads solid. In fact Mr Busy thinks the borders on the top 2 look red! The are intense! 

2. Trim and attach binding to Chunky Churn Dash! ✅

It’s been washed and dried and did not fade one bit!





3. Stitch on August’s Year in the Garden. ✅

It’s done and pressed. I will wait to trim it until I’m ready to finish the quilt!





4. Make some Bow Blocks for Melva’s “Pieces in the Garden” and download Block 3 from her site!

Partly done= I got engrossed in pink HST and stitching! And we had overnight company. But I did get the Block 3 downloaded .

I'm pretty sure I have never made a block like this one!  It will be challenging!

Next week

1. Work on pink table scraps challenge 

2. Sew zigzag blocks

3. Look for solid pink

4. Trace September design for “A Year in the Garden”

To-Do Tuesday #80

 

I'm linking up with Linda at Texas Quilt Gal to keep track of my goals and in-progress projects. Heaven knows I need all the help I can get.  I seem to be "stirring my chaos" as my sister used to say!

Last week I hoped to:

1. Put together a top for donation  through H2H at Mini Retreat. ✅  

Ninja Friends, from this book! ↓ The pattern is called  Simple Gifts. It's a great book, recommended to me by Nancy at Grace and Peace Quilting. 

2. Finish posts for TSC (Table Scraps Challenge) and OMG(One Monthly Goal)  ✅ done…see here and here

3. Get one more Growing Up Odd block made and decide if 9 blocks plus sashing are ENOUGH! ✅

I completed the block on the lower left and decided that 9 blocks is not enough. Even though they are large, it would be a short square lap quilt and I'd like a more rectangular one. So I will make it one block bigger all around and then add an extra border top and bottom to get to a rectangle. I have lots of 2" square cut and bought enough fabric for sashing to make the original quilt size.  It's 90x90 or 5X5 blocks.

 But I'm getting tired of doing this block so 7 more it is!

4. Sew something else at Mini Retreat.✅ 

Odd pieces of flannel, pieced to make a backing for Ninja Friends.  Yes, it needs to be trimmed up!

Upcoming week~ March 1 - March 7

1. Cut batting for Ninja Friends and Chunky Churn Dash! 

2. Continue blocks for placemats in aqua and March color!

3. Use 2" squares as leader and enders to make the 9 patches for  Growing Up Odd ( I need 7 more blocks)

4. Watch for new color announcement from Angela at RSC2022 and technique/idea prompt announcement from Joyful at Table Scraps Challenge. edited: RSC2022 color for March is Yellow and Table Scrap’s prompt is Flowers! 

That should keep me out of trouble and maybe elevate my mood!
