I’m not sure which streaming service, but it’s a National Geographic documentary.
Our city is hosting the International Pathfinder Camporee this week. It’s hard to understand how big this is. My small city has a population of approx 36, 000. If you add the rural ranches, and outlying subdivisions that use our amenities, it grows to 47,000. This week we have 60,000 additional people!
During this week, The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is in full swing, east of us 115 miles in Sturgis South Dakota. Their attendance is down this year, but they are counting around 50, 000 a day.
This is a photo from a drone over the nightly gathering . Pretty impressive. We have provided them with the 3rd largest traveling stage in the world, that dark spot in the middle of the photo. Here is a link to their Website if you are interested.

As noted in last weeks post, I’m not competitive in an athletic sense. So no! I’ve never wanted to compete. I marvel at the ability of all athletes and their dedication to their sport!
Because of where we live I’ve never attended in person. We like to watch on TV. This year, not as much as in previous years. I’m not sure the reason for that. Maybe because we can alway pull up highlights on YouTube and other sources!

I have been attending a 3 day sleep-in-your-own-bed retreat. Today is the last day. I’m tired but it’s been fun.

ReplyDeleteSleep-in-your-own-bed retreats are my favorite! Tiring? Sure but oh so worth it. I never heard of Sturgis but my Dad made it a point for us all to see the town own year on vacation. It wasn't the famed week but at least I know the name now! Lol! Have a great weekend!
