We’ve started watching SUITS! On Amazon Prime.

I know we are way behind the times. We were never able to watch it when it was on originally. We didn’t have the USA Network in our cable package. It was 2011! I didn’t even think I’d like it! But we have been searching for series to watch while at our son’s house. He has watched them all, but thought his Dad and I would like the story. He was right!
I'm just getting started in my new book.

Class or work shop
Several years ago I attended Road to California in Ontario CA . It was both fabulous and exhausting. It was at that convention that I came to the conclusion that I don’t have the stamina to sew or quilt or create anything for long periods of time. I took a class from Cindy Brick. A quilter, appraiser and blogger, among other titles. She taught a class on making memory quilts. She was a great teacher. I cannot remember if that what she calls them or not. It was a long time ago and I just plain forget. But fabric scraps, bit of lace and trim, beads, paint , glue etc. were involved. You probably get the idea.
This is a link to her blog if you are interested. She has changed her blog up some as the years have gone by. I believe she and the Brick (as she calls her DH) are retired, now.
My limit is 1/2 day classes for maybe 3 days, then I’m done. I’d do a second session a month or two later, if necessary.
As for what do I want to learn? Hand piecing is at the top of my list
Knitting is a close second. That I will learn in 2023.
And then lettering. Not necessarily calligraphy , but fun pretty letters.
Today, we will be driving south to Mt Shasta to meet friends from Wyoming who are also in Northern California for a bit this winter. We will have lunch and catch up. Should be fun. So I will read all your posts later this evening. Thanks, LeeAnna for making this weekly event easy to access and to read other's posts.

Wow on the beautiful sunrise, Judy! I'm with you on taking days-long classes and workshops - that takes a lot of energy. I like to sew and do most everything (housework, lol?!) in short spurts. Those cookies look yummy! Have a fun day!

ReplyDeleteI can still hear the catchy theme song for Suits, I think that's partly why I enjoyed the show. I don't think I watched all the episodes, though - we faded after binging. Maybe I'll have to pick it up again. Those cookies look good! Enjoy your time with your friends - safe travels!

I'm doing a free knitting online taster and linked to it today, you might like to see what there is to learn there, and it's on your schedule. Have fun with your friends. I like Sally's cooking tips and recipes a lot, and use her one dish lemon bar recipe over and over.

ReplyDeleteI remember Suits but I don't think I watched it. Thinking my mother enjoyed it. I saw that recipe for Molasses Cookies but ended up not making them at Christmas. Were they as good as they sounded? Have a good week!
