I Like being home. I really enjoyed our time away and time with our son., but I do hate getting there and getting home. Especially traveling by car at this time of year.
We saw beautiful areas,
snow covered mountains but always the threat of icy roads and blowing snow.
I don’t sleep well as a rule, but in a motel it’s worse! So I’m glad to be back in my own bed.
And glad to be back in my sewing space too. And today I’ll stitch with friends at the library. FUN!
We’ve watched 2 more episodes of Andor on Disney+. It’s getting really intense. DD isn’t interested in SUITS, so Mr Busy and I will watch it alone.
We were able to listen to the Playoff games on the way home on Sunday, thanks to Sirius XM in our car. And when I got back home I was able to negotiate a better price for the upcoming year. Our subscription expired 1-20-23. Yay, me!
Wednesday I opened and filed all the mail, updated the 2023 calendar and hung it on the wall in the kitchen. And I wrote a posted my entry for PQ 14.2. I’m pretty excited!
Our prompt this week is LISTS! Am I a list keeper? Yes, yes,yes!
I participate in To-Do Tuesday hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt. I make the grocery list on a magnetic pad with pencil on the fridge. Although DS showed me how to make a list and widget on my phone, I’m just old-fashioned enough to prefer the paper and pencil one. The phone list is handy for quick trips to the store, though.
Whenever we go to any store, our last word to each other is, “ Do you have your list?”
I have a “signature journal” ( a different word for notebook, from my bullet journal days) by my chair to note movies and TV programs we have watched. I rate them, sometimes noting the date. Also which season and episode if it’s a series.

I have post-it notes on my desk and cutting table. A small spiral notebook next to my machine where I note when I changed a needle and the size, what stitch I used when appliquéing and if I altered the default.
I have a notebook of quilt blocks I want to try or have tried. I started a quilt journal but failed at keeping info and photos together. I should begin again!
I could go on and on! This old lady can’t remember anything unless I write it down! Somewhere!
I'm with you, Judy. I used to be an avid list maker but haven't gotten out of the routine lately. Hope to get better at it this year. We had a similar trip last weekend, returning home in snow and through mountain roads...towing our Airstream. I should add some of those photos to my next blog post. See? I need a list.

ReplyDeleteI always think it's good to get away, but feels so good to come home, too! I really like your signature journal for keeping track of movies and shows you've watched. We've had a few where we didn't remember we'd already watched it, so started off to watch it, and then say, "Did we already watch this?" 🤣
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! I don't sleep well either, and as you mentioned, even worse in a hotel. Nothing beats our own bed, right?! I'm with you on lists! I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't use them. Now, it's just a matter of remembering to bring the list with us when needed. I do keep some on my phone but paper still rules for me. Happy Thursday, my friend. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

ReplyDeleteYour views were so pretty on the road, but I'd be nervous about ice! I'm with you on lists, and my husband and I say the same thing to each other when we go get groceries - although we have forgotten to ask a few times - lol!

ReplyDeleteI had a great time hearing about your types of lists... great ideas. I like the idea of keeping track of shows, we're always saying what should we watch next and have we seen the last of that series??? Brilliant about the needle too since who could keep track of that in their minds? And as to lists on a phone, well it's too small and hard to deal with and who wants a barbie sized written list anyway? LeeAnna
