This is an oak leaf I found on my walk last week. It's not a normal leaf that we find in Wyoming. We have cottonwoods, aspen, ash, and of course spruce, pine and juniper. It’s an oak leaf, I think. I like how it curled all up, but it’s not crumbly. It’s almost leathery! Cool!
I just finished this book! It was really good. And a bit scary, in an unnerving way, not spooky!

This is a peek at the Christmas Cactus that belongs to my oldest. granddaughter. She left it in my care when she moved away! It getting ready to bloom! Maybe it’s really a Thanksgiving cactus!

One “Unlike” happened yesterday! We had a sewer clog that required a call to Roto-Rooter. There was standing water in the downstairs pantry that migrated to Mr Busy’s build room. (Not man cave, but the masculine version of sewing room) He has, or should I say had, a snap together flooring system. The water was between the original cement floor and the textured flooring tiles. It’ll be gone by the weekend! I have a few rugs hanging outside, still dripping. Thankfully it didn’t freeze last night and the next few days will be in the 60s,

The oak leaf almost looks like it's metal in your photo. Intriguing. Your Christmas cactus will be beautiful! Ugh for your unlike...hope things are back to normal soon!

ReplyDeleteYour cactus is a little further along than mine. Last year all my buds just dropped without opening. Obviously I did something wrong. Looking forward to this year's blooms. Sounds like the flooring wasn't ruined. At least it wasn't carpeting. Hope your upcoming week is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! LOOK at the blooms on that cactus. I am so jealous. Nothing on mine so far this year. It has been confused in the past, blooming sometimes in November and other times in February. Whatevs. Nothing I can do about it. Both of those books look fab - I love Patterson! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI like that curly crunchy leaf... oy vey about the flooding! We had that one year in MD and it caused every box in the basement to absorb moisture even if they weren't wet. your weather is cooler than ours... for the next two days high 70;s with intense sun making it feel much hotter. I used to have a Ch. cactus and love their blossoms
