Entertainment : We finished this puzzle
and started this bad boy on Monday this week.
I’m having a hard problem finding likes this week. The weekend was spent in my hometown, going through sone of my sisters things. I came home with a few of her things. This Jewel housewares coffee pitcher belonged to our mother. After her death in 2012, my sister took this and I got some small bowls. Now the pitcher lives here.
I gathered some jewelry, some books for my kids and grandkids. Some things small enough to mail or hold til they come home.
Then Monday, the senseless violence and deaths at a King Sooners in Boulder CO. It feels close! My daughter and granddaughters lived in Loveland, Lakewood and Fort Collins. I know people in those places. Boulder isn’t far. Colorado has had too many of these horrific acts!
My brother did share this book with me! I will start on it soon.
And we stayed with them while we were in SD. My SIL made Swedish pancakes with lingonberries for breakfast!
I didn't get a picture....but they were like this. With some added powdered sugar! Yummy!

Love the photo mosaic puzzle, that is what is on my dining room table too. Mine is Starry night but it is made up of all photos from NASA of launches, recoveries, training....Lets just say that if we get a couple of pieces a week we are doing good. I am sorry it has been a tough week.
ReplyDeleteit is rough going though the belongings of a loved one trying to think of what to keep and what to donate or sell. My mother had dishes like what you show my daughter had a lot of them now as I already had some from my grandmother that I don't use and take up too much room - what to do what those one day?

I didn't realize you had lost your sister - was it during the past year? I'm so sorry but glad you got a few meaningful treasures from her things. I like the quilt your book is sitting on!

I love your turtle ocean puzzle by the way- I've always enjoyed puzzles but haven't had any out in a while. Maybe I should start one!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a hard week with yet another shooting in our region. So horrible. And harder for you with the loss of your sister. Sending you a hug, Judy! My book club read Educated not too long ago - it's a fascinating story, but a very strange family!

ReplyDeleteGood work. The under water puzzle, my doctor's office has a similar poster I stare when getting blood work done. It is a relaxing scene.
