Today I am linking up with Melinda at West Metro Mommy Reads for"
There are a few rules if you want to post also. Check out Melinda's blog at West Metro Mommy Reads, then link up your Saturday Snapshots.
I will begin by sharing a photo from our front porch on August 21st. This is Mr Busy and our great grandson, Joe. He is almost 4. Can you guess what they are doing? We were not in totality, but 97.8% was pretty awesome.
Pa (Mr Busy) fashioned the unique eye wear for J out of eclipse glasses and a paper plate, because the glasses were too big for him. It worked great.
I'm late posting today. We have been at our granddaughter and grandson-in-law's house celebrating our great grandson's 4th birthday. His actual birthday is September 5th. But his grandma and his Auntie Shasta could visit from Colorado this weekend, so we celebrated today. Also, his Dad was off this weekend. Dad works retail, so lots of weekends he is not around. Here are just 3 of the many photos taken today.
I am afraid I caught his momma unaware, as I tried to get a picture of the red and black cupcakes for his Mickey Mouse themed party.
A large blow up Mickey joined the party. These were ears for all. Here is Joseph and his Auntie Shasta and Mickey
I made him a super hero cape, with belt, wristband and a mask. Showing off a bit in this one.
Busy Busy in our neck of the woods this week.
Off to check out all the rest of the Saturday Snapshots.

Saturday Snapshots - Strawberry Moon
I missed getting this posted on Saturday. I was waiting on permission to post a picture of the moon taken Friday night in our area. The full moon is June is traditionally called the Strawberry Moon. Not because it's pink, although it might appear so sometimes. The Algonquins named it, They thought it was the best time to pick strawberries. A link to the Farmers Almanac page about moon names is here.
The moon was beautiful. My friend Susan posted this photo to Facebook. She takes great pictures and has an artists eye. She and her husband live outside of our town, so there are no city lights to detract.
I live on the north edge of our small city and this was my view at bit later. And from my cell phone camera, not Susan's "real " one.
I experimented a bit with my cell phone in the dark. Here is a picture of my small strawberry patch. As you can see, nothing to harvest. 😄
This was taken write before the next picture was taken. My flash works pretty well. And then the clouds moved in and obscured the moon. This photo from my front porch.
It's been warm here in NE Wyoming, but today, Sunday it is forcast to be cooler and cloudy. We could use the rain. Our famous Wyoming wind drys grasses, veggies and flower very quickly.
I have been sewing, hand embroidering and taking littles to the park. More pictures about those activities in a future Saturday Snapshots. I'm off to breakfast with friends, then back here to check out others' snapshots and get some more sewing done.
Have a great week!

June is Here
I'm sort of playing Throwback Thursday this week. My brother's 65th birthday was Thursday, so I dug up some old photos and found some of him as a kid. I am the oldest, he is the third. He was probably 5 here.
This was taken on his birthday, by my SIL.
Then Friday was our anniversary. So I found this old photo from our wedding 1964. We were so young.
I need a photo of us that is more current.......maybe I'll take one today. We are going to a 50th wedding anniversary party for friends. This is one of a portion of family when we gathered to celebrate two of our granddaughter's birthdays, 2 weeks ago.
Our daughter, her daughters, her SIL and her grandkids are the others in the photo We are blessed.
I think I am going to try to continue the Before and Now theme for family celebrations for the rest of the year. I need to organize my photos. I have boxes and boxes of actual prints. Lots on my computer, and now of course on my phone and DH's iPad. Yikes!!!
Until next time

Saturday Snapshot - Just a day late
Here are a few of the reasons I've been busy. This is a pillow with a pocket. I made it for our great grandson just because. The original pattern was intended to hold a book. I altered it a bit and added the strap which is secured with velcro. It hold his tablet. He loves airplanes, can you tell?
This is a counted cross stitch project I have gotten back to. I started it in 2001. OMG....my eyes were getting so bad that I put it away. I have newer glasses now and have added magnifiers for close work. It is better now. Hopefully it will be done by Christmas 2017!
This is another of the pillow with a pocket example. This matches the quilt I made for our youngest great grandchild. It has a shallow pocket for mama's cell phone or maybe a nursing pad or two. Mama uses it as she rocks and nurses Bella before bed. There is also a label for the quilt. I have attached it now, it has all her birth information.
And this is a crumb quilt. I was auditioning border fabrics. For those of you who don't know, a crumb quilt is a quilt made with all the bits and pieces of fabric that most people throw away. I can't bear to do that. At 12-15 dollars a yard for fabric these days, I have this whole quilt for no money expended, just my time and the thread to sew up the pieces. Even the backing is pieced from some chunks of fabric already on my shelves.
Here it is done. Not a big quilt, but a throw to go over my legs as I sit and stitch or watch a movie.
A close up of the scrappy black and white border fabrics. Betty Boop and Mickey were cut from triangles of fabric that the groomer tied around our Shih Tzu's neck after her bath and cut. We lost her in December, so these are little scraps of remembrance.
So you know I haven't been idle! Haha!

Saturday Snapshots April Fool's Day 2017
It's been a long time since I linked up to Saturday Snapshots hosted by Melinda at West Metro Mommy reads. I have been absent, not reading much, busy with new stuff. I lost my mojo in 2016, this year is better. Here are some pictures of some changes.
This is my daughter holding her new granddaughter. Isabella was born in early July.
She is tiny here
At Christmas in her Bronco sleeper and sitting in her bumba seat.
And now she in crawling and wanting to stand and walk around furniture. She is such a different baby from her brother. And he has changed too.
I have been sewing too. There are some past post here on the blog. And I have been reading. I hope to get back to this page more in the future. Spring is near and my attitude will improve with the sun shine and warmer weather.

Saturday Snapshots 25 June Father's Day 2016
Linking up late with Melinda at West Metro Mommy Reads. Check out her blog for the few rules about posting photos. Have fun.
Not many pictures taken this week. Here are some from our Father's Day Sunday. We spent time in a local park with our granddaughter and her family. Then it was so hot, we decided to go to the county recreational center for a swim. Unhappily, they had closed the pool due to an accident. I'm thinking child, stomach sick, but not sure. Little guy was unhappy about not doing the "pool". Luckily we also have a free outdoor city pool, so off we went, I locked up my cell phone while there, so I have not photos, but picture a two and half year old, water, parents, great grandparents, slides, waterfalls, etc.
This is our grandson-in-law with their English Bulldog, Stoic. He rarely has a Sunday off, he works retail.
Mr. Busy and our great grandson, just chillin',
Here he is again, laying by his 'Pa' and our dog, Emma is on the blanket too. A real family affair.
We still don't have a new baby yet, the "birthing waves" experienced on Sunday night have just gone away. She saw the OB doctor on Tuesday, she said, "Everything looks good, see you next week". So we wait.
They are ready though.
We painted the nursery pale pink with a slightly darker pink on the window wall.
There is a bunny lovey waiting in the crib.
Changing table, boppy and diapers all at the ready.
Rocker with the quilt I made for her sits in the corner.

Our ex-son-in-law at our youngest granddaughter's graduation. No matter what, the Dad's are still in your life.
My brother (on the right) with his two sons. Not sure what they were celebrating here!
Our son, his son and our daughter-in-law at family photo day.

And last but not least, Mr. Busy's dad with our granddaugher, his first great grandchild, about 1989.
And my Dad, walking me down the aisle in June 1964. He was killed in an automobile accident 5 years later.
