I'm joining Kathy and other Slow Sunday Stitching stitchers to share what I am working on during the sit-down part of the day. And maybe while we zoom with our kids and their families. Sometimes there is so much conversation, I just have to be still and listen to the love.
This project is an old UFO. It is a preprinted panel that was purchased along time ago when we crafters were embellishing sweatshirts and denim vests. I didn't do either, but bought the panel because our family room was/is decorated in old red, cream and blue. I ran across it again while looking for a kit I bought in Minnesota at Gruber's Quilt Shop in 2007. That's a story for another day.
It will be a pillow wrap. I had a booklet of those too! I added some blue star fabric that very nearly matched the blue star fabric that surrounds Uncle Sam on the old fashion bicycle. Joined some batting scraps, constructed a backing from various pieces of patriotic type fabric and got it quilted up. I'll bind it today. Next week , I'll show the finish.
You can barely see the footrest part of my blue recliner in the picture above↑↑ I've got my feet up ready to stitch. Happy May Day!💐

ReplyDeleteSomehow I missed this post on Sunday, Judy! Your Uncle Sam design is really neat - love him on the bicycle. I've never heard of a pillow wrap - you'll have to explain!
