This week there was some red scraps sewn. This is the block for Jan-Feb 22 Covered in Love block drive. It starts with a red square one rectangle in one corner. Then anything goes. It’s sewn log-cabin style onto a foundation fabric. Kat suggests old sheet fabric. Then trimmed to 12.5” . You can read about CiL here.
And 2 string blocks late yesterday afternoon. I try to stay on task with the string blocks . I use a shorter stitch length and a needle that I only use for sewing on paper. For these I use a telephone book page like Bonnie Hunter suggests.
A sneak peek at a project to be revealed at month end. Guesses??
I'll leave you with this..... a project for this weekend so I can finish RED with a flourish by the end of January!

Love seeing all your reds, Judy! They're making some great blocks. I need to get back on track with CiL - haven't made blocks for her in quite awhile. And after sending my Mercyful quilt to Bernie, I realized how much cheaper blocks are to send, lol! Love the peek at your red snowmen, too. Time for me to finish up mine, too.

ReplyDeletewe could be sewing side by side! I have covered shoe boxes but won't go to the post office. I took the flip lid sneaker boxes from dh, which are fairly large, and covered with pretty wrapping paper to make decorative boxes.
ReplyDeleteI sew my string blocks ala Bonnie Hunter also! Great blocks you've got going for your groups. I have to admit that I'm never sure if I made things better or worse when I start trying to sort my scraps. Sometimes it almost seems worse! Ha! Have a great weekend!
