I LIKE Thursday #285

The 4th is behind us. But we can celebrate this birthday all year. We’ve had some political election signs up for a while. But this week they have grown by leaps and bounds. These midterms are serious business here In Wyoming.

Last Wednesday I went back to the orthopedic clinic for a recheck. They did X-rays again. Now they can’t really see any break. I can remove my brace when I’m resting and not too active, next week they will give me a PT referral. I have good movement, but not much strength. PT will help, I hope!.

I was able to hold a hoop and needle & thread for short periods this week. Putting the finishing white stitches in WIP Sweetly Sayin’, was accomplished. It’s done now except for date and signature.

Also some stitches were put into 4th of July. After today,  I’ll put this in rotation, and work on something different. Another neutral string block, maybe, and start gathering  2 1/2” aqua squares.

This really got neglected after my fall. Oh well!

The bathroom(s) remodel is slowly taking shape. The hall bathroom is usable now, with the exception of a mirror and paint and final light fixture. Our daughter is coming to visit and celebrate her granddaughter’s 10th birthday, tomorrow through Monday. So I’ll put my stand mirror in  that bathroom temporarily.

I’m looking forward to her visit and the birthday party that is planned. I hope I remember to take some photos.  I’m not good at that, I get caught up in the party/🎉🥳😄

One last hint to share: Tuesday late afternoon, Mr Busy and I were enjoying some time on the back deck. We went in to fix supper and then were hit with a good old fashioned thunderstorm. All this leads to the fact that my homemade table toppers  were soaked and left there overnight. They looked like this.

I took them to the washer and did a 30 min soar in warm water and a squirt of Dawn platinum. When the cycle was done, they looked like this. I am very pleased. Thanks Marva for the hint!.

Stay Busy and Stay Happy and Healthy and Hopeful!

PS: forgot to publish yesterday! OMGOSH  I’m getting so forgetful!

  1. Hooray for some stitching therapy! That sounds like good news from the ortho doc. Glad your bathroom remodel is close to a finish and you get to see your daughter this weekend, too. I have some Christmas quilted table toppers and a runner that need that Dawn treatment. Thanks for the reminder!

  4. I love your quote by Abraham Lincoln He was such a wise man. I was so grateful for PT during my knee surgeries and when I ran into a wooden pull up bars. Every day I did the various exercises at home via their recommendations. I've learned to to as Daddy used to say, "Give time, time." My sister told me, "You only get one chance to recover, so do it right." I was sorry to read about your fall. May you have a full recovery.
Your 1776 fabric is such a beautiful vintage color! I’m sure you will have a great time during your daughter’s visit – especially with your granddaughter. I’m so happy your table toppers had a successful bath with Dawn!
