I LIKE Thursday! ~ Fair and Festival Time

If you look, you’ll find a heart in the most secret place. Our Community Master Gardeners Walk was on Saturday! 

We walked through this neat and awesomely decorated garage to get to the back garden at one home. Right under the Chevrolet Shop sign is a coat rack made from various automobile gear shift levers! The whole garage was decorated in similar fashion. A true man cave! 

Other yards had beautiful pots of annuals. 

This garden had lots of interesting garden art. A single guy owns and cares for this garden. He’s also my favorite UPS driver!

This backyard is totally accessible for the owner’s husband , who is in a wheel chair. When they remodeled the house to be ADA accessible, they included the front porch and this lovely back patio. 

After our garden walk, we joined nearby neighbor’s for a BBQ. The food was fabulous and plentiful. And the guys played Cornhole. And drank beer!🍺

 

I’m a big fan of Big Bang Theory! So when I saw this on Carol’s To-Do Tuesday post, I had to borrow it! I don’t know whose art work it is, but I like it!

tell us about a local festival/fair you've attended and what it's about? What did you like about it?  We can learn what's going on in your area of the world?

Our County Fair is the end of July. July 28th through August 5th. No doubt we (I) will attend. A friend is supervisor of the Needlework display and always encourages us to enter. I don’t know if I will….maybe if I get my QOV bound! 

I talked above about the Master Gardeners Walk. Several quilting/ stitching friends are also involved with that. The ticket sales and raffles support the free gardening classes that they present throughout the year. Speaking of raffles, this year their theme was plant the inside out. They had household items with plantings. I won this cute little doll buggy, planted with impatiens and two other tiny flowered plants. I don’t know the names of them, I’ll have to find out!

It will live in a shady corner in my back garden!

Other things going on, Sunday starts the National High School Finals Rodeo. Lots of visitors to our small city. I like seeing the young people all decked out in their jeans, shirts, boots and hats with their competitors numbers on their backs. They wear them proudly! 

There is a car show this month! Mr. Busy is interested in those. And a Wings and Wheels exhibition at our airport. Airplanes and motorcycles, etc! He likes those things too! If it goes VROOM VROOM, he is a fan!
