I LIKE THURSDAY #284

I need this reminder every once in a while. I’ve been AWOL for a bit.

LeAnna’s conversation starters for the last couple of weeks. So I’ll answer them all here.

June 11 2026

would you rather be swinging in a hammock outside or digging in your garden

Definitely I’d choose the hammock.

what are your fave flowers to grow or put in hanging baskets ? petunias. In the past I’ve grown some:

June25 2026

did you go to the beach as a child? did you like to collect shells? build a sand castle? have a favorite swimsuit or toy?

If no beach, did you go to a lake or river?
No beaches in South Dakota or Wyoming. We played in creeks and small lakes. Some lakes had man-made beaches. We thought they were fun. No seashells though.

Mostly I’ve been overwhelmed by puppy care. She chewed the cord on my floor lamp. We haven’t replaced it. So not much stitching.

Monday, I walked again with my friend. We have  a small lake in the middle of our town. There is a wide concrete walking path around the perimeter. It is 1.1 miles. Monday while looking at the geese that live around there, I tripped on a broken slab of the walkway. Full face plant!
Monday after being in the ER. ⤴️ and ⤵️

By Tuesday it looked like this. ⤵️

Today I saw the orthopedic PA.  My arm will not require surgery , but my elbow is broken. A slight fracture of the neck of the bone there. So now I am in a different contraption.

I won’t be able to hold a hoop for some time. We will see if the sewing machine is compatible. I am glad I won’t need surgery. I’m thankful for a friend who stayed with me all the way to the hospital. I’m glad for an attentive and qualified Emergency Staff.

Not a lot to be happy about, but a few. We had Show and Tell, last week at Thursday Stitchers.

Marva is a new cross stitcher, but an accomplished embroidery stitcher. She’s getting good at cross-stitch.

She also made a tall narrow bag to carry her Z-frame , shown above.⤴️

Jean sewed up this gorgeous quilt top then ….

Used scraps to make a puffy pillow top.

We are sooooo creative!.

Stay Busy and Stay Happy and Healthy and Hopeful!

  2. Oh, Judy - I'm so sorry that happened to you! I did the same thing about 10 years ago - was walking with a friend around the lake here, tripped and broke my wrist. Such a nasty surprise when you're enjoying yourself and doing something good for yourself, too. Wishing you quick healing! Hugs! 🩷
