I LIKE Thursday

Today I’m thinking that it will be fun to spend several hours with good friends, stitching, sharing, enjoying.

I was right. I have  stitching/quilting friends who are so creative. Today they gifted all of us Galentine’s Day gifts.

A pencil and a big paper clip, clipped to a card that says, “you're a real gem” from Linette. And a double sided packet that had raspberry tea in one side….

And a Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Raspberry square on the other side from Aggie.

Mr. Busy had a prescription to pick up yesterday, and came back home with a pot of tulips. A dark raspberry color. There could be a theme happening here.

Mr. Busy and I made potato soup yesterday following a Pioneer Woman recipe I found on the web.

I thought, earlier in the week, that I should stitch something Valentine-y. But I knew I’d never finish it in time. So I started on  Shamrock Sampler from Melissa at Pinker n Punkin Quilting

Today I finished the stitching and will fully finish it soon, as a small bowl filler.

I used a scrap of Aida that was in my stash. Don’t mind the notch out of the rectangle. It will be fine. Melisa uses Aida 14ct mostly. This scrap was 18ct. It’s just a bit smaller. I used DMC 368 for the alphabet and DMC 367 for the shamrocks.

I Like Thursday. 12-25-24

I’m joining LeAnna at Not Afraid of Color  for the last I Like Thursday of 2024.

Mr Busy likes to do puzzles. This is the first one he completed.

Last Thursday our son invited his neighbors over for pizza and Rummikub. I tried a new to me wine. It was very good!

Chocolate chip cookies were made by DS.

I made Velveeta fudge because DS had never tasted it before. Then DS made

Cranberry bread with orange glaze  from Natasha’s Kitchen. So so good.. a fun Christmas morning treat with Zen enhanced coffee.

During the football we opened the  meat and cheese assortment our daughter sent. Mr. Busy made Chex Mix.

Are you sensing a theme here?

LeeAnna asked about a special Christmas gift as a child or teen. Mine was a special hair dryer the Christmas before I turned 16 (I think). It’s hard to remember that long ago. I found this photo on the internet.

And then in 1964, on the 16th of December we welcomed our first baby. She was due on Christmas Eve, but came early!

I LIKE Thursday!

I’m joining other like minded bloggers to share some good stuff! Join us at Not Afraid of Color. LeeAnna keeps a list of  bloggers who join in.

Last Saturday I volunteered to help set up for a Craft Swap at our local library. This is a photo of all the “just fabric” that was donated by the 1.5 hour mark in a 5 hr drop off period. I had volunteered to work the whole 5 hrs. By 3pm, I was TOAST!

I’m working my way through the Christmas alphabet. It’s a Merry String by Lizzie Kate. It will be done this week and I hope to have it Fully Finished by December 1st.

Mr Busy grilled a small pork tenderloin and fresh zucchini for supper Sunday night. Yummy! I was so busy eating and “hmmmm”ing, that I forgot to take any pictures! It’s all gone now!

As I was going through mail, balancing my checkbook and doing some online bill paying , I found this sticker that was sent to me.  YES, I WILL!  I like it! No specifics, just stating a fact. I will exercise my constitutional right! Thank you Susan B Anthony and Frances Ellen Watkins Harper!

LeeAnna posted some prompts as food for thought for the next couple of weeks. For today, Sept 26th, she posed these questions.

what is your favorite fall scent?    I have several fall scented candles. Mostly they are Pumpkin spice, or just Pumpkin.

This is a favorite. It was made for me by my sister. It’s Patchouli Woods! It’s kinda of a masculine smell and I like it!

would you rather have a pumpkin spice drink or apple cider?  I used to love pumpkin spice season for the coffee flavor. Now, not so much! I have some Pumpkin Pie syrup that needs to be used up, so I’ll be experimenting.  I do like apple cider, but spiced. Usually with cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon, and I have added  a touch of apple brandy! 😳
