Wondrous Words Wednesday #2 One Thousand White Women ~

Here are three of my favorites new-to-me words from one of my recent reads.

ululation - noun

variant of  ululate

It is a language that often appears to be without vowels - a language of the crudest sounds rather than words - hisses, grunts and ululations - strange noises that seem to issue from some older  and more primitive earth....

perforce - adverb

by force of circumstance                  American Heritage Dictionary

- for fear that once we don savage garb, we become perforce savages - not just the brides of savages, but savages ourselves...... 

corporeality - noun

The state or quality of being corporeal; bodily existence         Webster's New World Dictionary


We are beginning to realize that the savages' world has even a different corporeality than ours, and one quite inaccessible to us.
