Saturday Snapshots At the County Fair

Saturday Snapshots is hosted by Melinda at West Metro Mommy Reads. The rules are few, check them out at Melinda's blog.

Thursday evening we went to the County Fair. I always like to look at the exhibits of quilts, and photography, and paintings. We had our granddaughter, her husband and her son with us. Daddy decided JR would like to ride the ponies.  He did not agree. The man running the pony ride was very kind. After about 4 times around, he stopped the ponies and let Daddy take JR off.  Maybe another year! :)

They also feed the goats in the petting pen, but those goats were very persistent.  They had a baby pot bellied pig, a calf and a young alpaca. Momma did most of the feeding. JR just watched.

He really enjoyed chasing the bubbles from the bubble tower, but I did not get a picture of that!  Bad Great Gramma!

We did enjoy our time together, and that is the most important thing.

Does your family attend the County Fair in your area?

  1. We dont go to the county fair but we have been attending the State Fair for the last few years. I love to see the quilts and admire what people are able to do with their quilts.

    1. State Fairs are great too. In my area the State Fair is held in a different city. Not terribly far, but it takes a great effort to attend for a whole day. I keep saying I will enter something in the fair next year......now it will have to be NEXT year. :)

    1. I think he needs to be a bit older. His family has two cats and a new puppy, so it is not that animals are foreign to him.

  3. The first time our granddaughter went to the county fair, the petting zoo scared her. She also wasn't comfortable riding the ponies. But now she's a little older and she's fascinated by all the animals. I'm sure JR will become more interested as he gets older. Looks like you all had a good time anyhow.

  4. We were at the county fair yesterday, too! It was beastly hot, so we didn't spend as much time as we normally would, but it was great fun!

    1. It was pretty warm here too, but we went late in the afternoon, about 5. Many exhibits were indoors, stinky somewhat, but not quite so hot! :)

    1. We are not really in a large city, but our city is the county seat so the fair is easy to attend.
